yesterday i went to mandurah for a rather pointless interview but i was inspired by all the birds i saw. i love birds and i was feeling miserable and it was as if these little angels were everywhere to try to lighten my spirit.

as soon as i left the house a beautiful white-black tipped kite called over me and swooped down low and over my neighbours house. as soon as i got to mandurah, a pelican landed next to me and waddled up all shy and adorable like some puppy. he wanted food but i didnt have any, but he was nice enough to stand still long enough for me to draw him, then he flew away.
then a saw a tiny bright green wren eating from a red flower.
then an osprey being chased by a magpie over the river, then a red headed parrot in the tree above me
it was like some lovely gift. and thus i was inspired

An old bird alighted on a branch, knowing that soon he would die.
Sitting alone in the moon light, regretting being isolated in his last hour.
when a tiny blue wren landed on a branch above him and began to sing softly and sweetly to him.
His eyes closed as the young bird sang him his final sweet lullaby.
This, his final hour, and not alone.

lol try not to imagine the old bird falling backwards off the branch after it dies. or even worse still. falling backwards, still holding onto the branch and hanging upside down, dead XDDD

don't ask me what the moral of the story is cos i have no clue :3
